Just a few pointers on cleaning a SIG P232. There are many things covered in the manual, but many of the fine details that will keep your gun running smooth are not. So here are a few pointers that will keep your gun happy. Plus, you get to see the some of the inner workings of the P232.
Looking to buy one a pistol for CCW and I have yet to see bad reviews of this model, I’ve been looking hard. The only thing bad I hear is about price comparison but that doesn’t bother me. Great vid by the way.
If you look closely, you will notice the logo on his T-shirt is backwards and, when he reinstalls the grips, he turns the screwdriver backwards. These are all from filming the video in mirror image.
@metalfaust19 Hoppe’s for both. Thanks for watching.
What kind of solvent and oil do you use? Just curious.
the slide catch lever spring unsprung, how do you put it back in place?
@dante666diaz I’ve heard it from several gun smiths, but most recently read it in Massab Ayoob’s book on SIGs. And yes it’s safe because that metal is much softer than the barrel. Thanks for watching.
Are you certain the pencil test is safe? Regular wooden pencils have a soft metal wrap at the end that holds the eraser and they often have a rough edge. Couldn’t this potentially harm your rifling and the bore wall? Or is the metal just too soft to do any damage?
@sysopkc It’s actually just the way my Mac recorded the video. Sorry. I’ve since figured out how to mirror it (and put it right) in iMovie. But I haven’t had time to remake the few videos that I made in Photo Booth.
@sigmaluco Hi there I nearly jumped out of my chair when I noticed your decocker is on the RIGHT side, did you have that special ordered? Or is that a gunsmith swap. I would be VERY interested in knowing how you got a lefty being one myself. Great video by the way, thanks alot. It was very good.
@Redbusser40 that’s the DVD player ripping a movie. Funny that you hear that. Now that you pointed it out, I can’t stop hearing it:) I’ll have to make sure to turn that off on my next video.
Whats that noise ??
